Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about buying a premium .my domain.
Buying a domain
How do I buy a domain?
Open the domain page and either buy at the asking price or make an offer using the form. No account is needed — we reply within one working day, and once terms are agreed you receive a secure payment link by email.
Can I negotiate the price?
Yes. Submit an offer on the domain page, confirm it via the link we email you, and we will accept, counter or decline. Serious offers are always answered.
Do I need an account?
No. You can enquire, offer and buy with just an email address. Every deal gets a private tracking link so you can follow the transfer status at any time.
Who can own a .my domain?
MYNIC, the Malaysian registry, sets eligibility rules. Broadly, .my domains are for individuals and organisations with a presence in Malaysia, and .com.my requires a business registered with SSM. Check that you meet the requirements before buying — we can help you confirm.
The domain I want is sold or not listed. What now?
Save a search alert on the browse page and we will email you the moment a matching domain goes live. You can also enquire about any domain — if we can source it, we will tell you honestly what is possible.
Payment and transfer
What payment methods do you accept?
FPX online banking (all major Malaysian banks) and cards, processed by Billplz, a licensed Malaysian payment provider. FPX is recommended — it carries only a small flat fee. All prices are in Malaysian Ringgit.
Is my money safe? When does the seller get paid?
Your payment is held and is only treated as final once MYNIC confirms the transfer is complete. If the transfer fails for reasons not caused by you, you receive a full refund.
How long does the transfer take?
Ownership transfer of .my domains is processed by MYNIC and typically completes in 14 to 21 working days. There is no instant push like .com — the registry may delete and reissue the domain to the new registrant. We track every stage and keep you updated by email throughout.
What do I need to buy a .com.my domain?
A .com.my transfer requires your SSM business registration documents. Have them ready and the process moves smoothly — we will tell you exactly what to send and when.
What is lease-to-own?
Instead of paying the full price upfront, you pay monthly instalments. You get use of the domain from day one through nameserver control, and full ownership transfers to you after the final payment. Available on selected domains — ask on any listing.
Domain valuation
How is the Estimated Market Value calculated?
A deterministic formula scores the domain on length, keyword strength, category demand, brandability and comparable sales. The same domain always produces the same estimate, so you can rely on it being consistent.
Is the estimate a professional valuation?
No. It is a software-generated market estimate, useful for pricing research and negotiation, but it is not an appraisal by a licensed valuer and should not be used for accounting, lending or legal purposes. A shareable certificate of the estimate is available for RM49.
Selling and general
Can I sell my domain on zoo.my?
Third-party listings are coming in a future phase. If you own a strong .my domain you would like to sell, send us an enquiry through any listing page and we will contact you when seller onboarding opens.
Why are premium domains worth so much?
Short dictionary and category .my names are a fixed supply — the registry will never make more. The owner of the category word starts every marketing campaign ahead: easier to remember, cheaper to advertise, instantly credible to Malaysian customers.
How do I contact you?
Use the enquiry form on any domain page — with or without an offer amount. We reply within one working day.
